Our trip

Our trip

In February 2006 we have spent a 21 day holiday in both Kenya and Tanzania, finishing along the beach of Mombasa. We've seen and experienced many amazing things and this, to us was an unforgettable adventure. In Kenya we've had the pleasure of visiting Nairobi, the Masai Mara and Mombasa. We've stood eye-to-eye with a roaring lion and had the change to pet a rhino an cares a cheetah. And we traveled from Nairobi to Mombasa with the night train.

In Tanzania we visited Arusha, the Ngorongoro crater, Serengeti and Lake Manyara. We marvelled over the wide stretched plains of the Serengeti with its enormous groups of wildebeests and zebras that roam these plains. This is also the land were we got to encounter and admire the "big five" and were we saw a lion catch and drag away its prey.

This all was especially possible because of our safari guides Douglas and Issa, with their enthusiasm they contributed to a great holiday, and more. Douglas with his patience, to again and again wait for us when we were not finished watching and taking pictures, although he seemed to enjoy it as much as we did. And Issa with his hawk like eyes, spotting game from a great distance, being able to tell us all about the game, but also talking about his country and family with such warmth.

You can use the links in the menu on the left side to read a complete journal of our trip or to admire many of the pictures we took during this trip. Unfortunately we can't tell and show you everything as we have just experienced to much and came back with the lovely amount of 6500 pictures. However we will try to include some new pictures every once and a while, to give you a better idea of what we experienced.
