General information

The United Republic of Tanzania "Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzaniais" has a narrow coastline with some islands, for example Pemba and Zanzibar, here you can find many lagoons and beautiful sandy beaches. The largest part of Tanzania, with its 945.090 km2, consists of the East African highlands. Tanzania's vegetation is sober and consists mostly of savanna with here and there an acacia bush. Exceptions are the lush mountain walls of the different volcanos.

The most interesting area of Tanzania is located in the northern parts of the country. Here you can find Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain of Africa, 5895 meter, but also the Rift Valley with al its natural beauty. In this wide cliff two Lakes are situated, Lake Natron and Lake Manyara.

In the north of Tanzania you can find several volcanos, for example the Ngorongoro-crater. In the crater mouth an almost secluded bio tope was developed, which gives you the opportunity to admire a large amount of wildlife in a relatively small area.
